In Malaysia, education about standards is spearheaded by the Department of Standards Malaysia as one of the means of increasing the usage of standards. The young generation is targeted with the aim of equipping future generations/leaders with knowledge of standards & conformance to influence the development of quality products & services and to promote quality enculturation. Three main categories of targeted groups are school students, college/university students and young professionals.

In response to the COVID-19 situation, Department of Standards Malaysia is providing free viewing access to standards that can be related to providing guidance in management of the disease. These standards are selected based on comparison done with our counterparts from all over the world and with the international standards organisation such as ISO and IEC. The standards will be useful for users to address issues or as proactive measures in managing the effect of the situation. This free viewing access is limited to Malaysian Standard (MS) only.
