The National Quality Infrastructure (NQI) is the institutional framework that establishes and implements the practice of standardisation, metrology, accreditation, conformity assessment services and market surveillance. The five major components of NQI provide a platform for consumers, enterprises, government and general public to ensure that the product and services procured are safe and comply with the relevant requirements and its intended functionalities. Each components are usually mandated through legislation by the government.
