Scope: Standardisation in the field of furniture including terms and definitions, performance, safety and dimensional requirements, requirements for specific components (such as hardware), test methods

Technical Committee on Lifting Devices (NSC 06/TC 8)

Scope: Standardisation of all aspects including terminology, load rating, basic design criteria, testing, safety, general design principles, maintenance and operation in the field: of cranes, of steel wire ropes, wire rope terminations, wire rope slings, of round steel link chains, sling hooks, shackles, eyebolts, terminal links, joining links and terminal fittings for slings and other accessories of lifts, service lifts, escalators, passenger conveyors and similar apparatus. And related equipment which suspend loads by means of a load handling device

Technical Committee on Non-destructive Testing (NSC 06/TC 9)

Scope: Standardisation covering non-destructive testing as applied generally to constructional materials, components and assemblies, by means of: glossary of terms, methods of tests, performance specifications for testing equipment and ancilliary apparatus. Excluded: quality levels, specifications for electrical equipment and apparatus

Technical Committee on Boilers and Pressure Vessels (NSC 06/TC 11)

Scope: Standardisation of construction of boilers and pressure vessels. Excluded: railaway and marine boilers, cylinders, aircraft and vehicle components, equipment used for fire-fighting, personal safety equipment, components of rotating or reciprocating devices, nuclear pressure equipment, piping systems, cryogenic vessels. Note: Construction is an all-inclusive term that includes design, materials, fabrication, examination, inspection, testing and conformity assessment

Technical Committee on Fasteners and Screw Threads (NSC 06/TC 12)

Scope: Standardisation of dimensions, tolerances and verifications, mechanical and functional properties, test methods and acceptance procedures for fasteners and screw threads

Technical Committee on Metallic Pipes and Fittings (NSC 06/TC 13)

Scope: Standardisation in the field of steel tubes, cast iron pipes, non-ferrous pipes, flexible metallic tubes and metallic fittings, flanges, pipe supports, pipe threads and gauges, metallic and organic coatings and protections. Excluded: plastic pipes and hoses

Technical Committee on Welding and Allied Processes (NSC 06/TC 14)

Scope: Standardisation of welding , by all processes as well as allied processes; these standards include terminology, definitions and the symbolic representation of welds on drawings, apparatus and equipment for welding, raw materials (gas, parent and filler metals) welding processes and rules, methods of test and control, calculations and design of welded assemblies, welder's qualifications, as well as safety and health. Excluded: electrical safety matters related to welding

Scope: Standardisation concerning classification, terminology, design, safety, performance and test methods in the field of gas equipment, appliances and accessories (excluding for medical application)

Technical Committee on Machinery and Components Engineering (NSC 06/TC 20)

Scope: Standardisation of all types of machinery and its components including rolling and plain bearings, shafts, industrial fans, filters, compressor, pneumatic machines, engines, tools (machine and hand tools), dies, power transmission engineering (belts, pulleys, gears, conveyor chains etc)

Technical Committee on Potable Water Systems and Components (NSC 06/TC 21)

Scope: Standardisation in the field of fluid systems and components, comprising terminology, construction, principal dimensions, safety requirements, testing and inspection methods. To include such components as accumulators, compressed air dryers, conductors (rigid and flexible), cylinders, electro-hydraulic and electro-pneumatic components and systems, fittings, fluidic devices, hose fittings and assemblies, filter and separators, fluids, hydraulic pumps, motors, moving-part fluid controls, pneumatic lubricators, regulators, quick-action couplings, reservoirs, sealing devices, valves

Scope: Standardisation in the field of mechanical safety of consumer products, including recreational equipment, requirement, design, construction and test method

Technical Committee on Petroleum and Gas Measurement (NSC 08/TC 1)

Scope: Standardisation of methods of static and dynamic measurement for petroleum and gas.

Technical Committee on Petroleum Fuels (NSC 08/TC 2)

Scope: Standardisation of methods of measurement, sampling and test, terminology, classifications and specifications for liquid petroleum fuels and biofuels excluding kerosene/aviation fuel.

Technical Committee on Natural Gas (NSC 08/TC 3)

Scope: Standardisation of terminology, quality specifications, methods of measurement, sampling, analysis and test for natural gas and natural gas substitutes (gaseous fuel), in all its facets from production to delivery to all possible end users

Technical Committee on Bitumen and Bituminous Products (NSC 08/TC 4) 

Scope: Standardisation in the field of methods of measurement, sampling and test, terminology, classifications and specifications for bitumen and bituminous products

Technical Committee on Liquefied Petroleum Gas and Related Products (NSC 08/TC 5) 

Scope: Standardisation of code of practice, method of testing or sampling for LPG related products

Technical Committee on Liquefied natural gas installations and equipment (NSC 08/TC 6) 

Scope: Standardisation on Liquefied Natural Gas Installations and Equipment specifically LNG transfer systems for onshore installations, offshore installations for LNG production or regasification and onshore LNG storages.

Scope: Standardisation in the field of pipeline systems.

Scope: Standardisation of requirements and guidance in the field of quality management for medical devices.

Implants for surgery are objects or devices which are surgically implanted in the body either temporarily or permanently for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes

Scope: Standardisation and guidance in the field of laboratory medicine and in vitro diagnostic test systems. This includes, for example, quality management, pre- and post-analytical procedures, analytical performance, laboratory safety, reference systems and quality assurance
