JSM develops and publishes Malaysian Standard (MS) through a process of consensus and continuous engagement with multiple stakeholders which take into consideration inputs, feedback and recommendations from all.
MS development principals are based on Annex 3 to WTO/TBT Agreement, ISO/IEC Guide 59 and ISO/IEC Guide 21.
The development of MS consist of eight (8) main stages:

STANDARDS MALAYSIA develops anda publishes standard though a process of consensus, through continuous engagement with multiple stakeholders to include the Advisory Committee which takes into consideration inputs, feedback and recommendation from the Standard Writing Organisations (SWOs), Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs), Standard Development Agencies (SDAs), International Bodies and Experts as well as the Public.
The Principal of MS Development ae based on Annex 3 to WTO/TBT Agreement, ISO/IEC Guide 59 & ISO/IEC Guide 21 (Adoption of International Standards as national standard).
