Integrity Unit, the Department of Standard Malaysia (JSM) was established in year 2020 in accordance with Pekeliling Perkhidmatan Bilangan 6 Tahun 2013 (PP6/2013) ‘Penubuhan Unit Integriti di Semua Agensi Awam’ effective on August 1, 2013. On November 23, 2023, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) rated JSM as a less risky government agency.
The unit function as a focal point in managing issues related to integrity in the department. It is also responsible in implementing five (5) core functions as follows:
- Good Governance
- To ensure the implementation of good governance in JSM.
- Integrity Enrichment
- To inculcate, institutionalise and implement the concept of integrity in JSM.
- Identification and Verification
- To identify and verify complaints related to criminal misconduct, violations of code of conduct and ethics in JSM, and ensure appropriate actions are taken.
- To report criminal misconduct to the relevant enforcement agencies.
- Complaints Management
- To receive and provide response to all complaints and information concerning criminal misconduct and violation of ethics in JSM.
- Compliance
- To ensure laws and regulations are enforced and complied with.
