National Standards Compliance Programme (NSCP) is a programme aimed to bridge all initiatives and information on standard compliance in the country.  NSCP is managed by Department of Standards Malaysia.

The objective of NSCP is to provide a one-stop centre for national reference on standards compliance.

NSCP is inspired to create quality-conscious industries  which will embed standards as enabler to :

1) deliver quality products and services
2) increase organisational efficiency and productivity
3) gain the relevant competitive edge while upholding safety and health of consumers
4) protect the environment

This is envisaged to result in better acceptance of local products and services in domestic and foreign markets and increase national competitiveness to create wealth that will contribute to moving up the economic value chain to a high income economy.

NSCP serves two functions:

1) To provide technical expertise on standards compliance to the government implementing agencies such as SME Corp. Malaysia with the intention to increase the awareness, knowledge and technical know-how on standards compliance among agencies in Malaysia. The aim is to provide multiplying effects to the industries under their purview so that their industries will be more equipped and informed to undertake and maintain standards compliance activities. This is done through mutual beneficial collaboration initiatives with the relevant agencies. Industries may also benefit from this initiative by approaching their particular implementing agency and provide new ideas or project proposals on standard compliance for those proposals to be considered under this collaboration.

2) To provide one-stop centre that consolidates information on standards compliance knowledge, initiatives, assistance and support available. This is done in two ways :

A) The physical one-stop centre (NSCP OSC) residing at SME Corp. Malaysia's One-Referral Centre. The NSCP one-stop centre will provide the following services :

(1) Advisory on standards

(2) Advisory on Standard Malaysia's services and activities such as application and enquiries for accreditation of laboratories, certification bodies and inspection bodies; and involvement in standards development and standard implementation activities

(3) Sales of Malaysian Standards

B) A portal on NSCP which will be hosted in Standards Malaysia‘s website. The portal will contain information on NSCP and the relevant information related to standards compliance.
